Joel Denot conducted a classical training in photography.
In 1991 he began his research on photography. Entirely made in the shooting, it is of a purely photographic. As opposed to finding a representative snapshot of reality, the work of Joel Denot focus on the essential elements of photography, color and light. With one set per year, alternating with large unique Cibachrome print and Polaroids, Joel Denot is anxious to break the fascination of the image. He contributes his work to push the boundaries of photographic expression.
In 1998, he participated in his first exhibition "in January of Burgundy, Chalons-sur-Saone (France)."
He took part in several events of international contemporary art, such as the Salon Paris Photo in 1999, Art Basel in Switzerland with the Torch Gallery and London Art Fair with Gallery Jibby Bean in 2001. The Art Fair Brussels in 2003, the festival of the photo of Lebanon in Beirut in 2004. The same year, he has a solo exhibition at Galerie Frank in Paris.Photo personals of Arles in 2005.
Personal exhibition in 2009 at Galerie Oniris at Rennes.
