Artists of geometric art who shaped the 20th century

The exhibition brings together outstanding works that explore, in various ways, the tension between order, structure and artistic freedom. The works of Vera Molnar, Christian Megert, Günther Uecker, Aurélie Nemours and Sonia Delaunay offer a multifaceted perspective on the development and expressive power of geometric form in modern and contemporary art.

The focus is on the reduction to fundamental elements such as line, surface, rhythm and repetition.

Vera Molnar, a pioneer in digital art, she systematically explores variations in geometric structures using a computer, thereby making the creative process itself visible.

Christian Megert extends geometry into space by working with mirrors and light, thereby actively involving the viewer in the work.

Günther Uecker, on the other hand, breaks through the strict order with his relief-like nail pictures, in which movement, light and shadow play a central role.

Aurélie Nemours pursues a consistently spiritual dimension of geometry, in which mathematical precision and meditative clarity merge.

Sonia Delaunay finally introduces a dynamic, colour-intensive perspective: her works combine geometric forms with vibrant colour theory and rhythm, expanding abstraction to include a sensual, almost musical dimension.

Together, these artistic approaches demonstrate that geometric art is far more than mere abstraction. It is a field of experimentation where rationality and sensuality, system and intuition meet. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the diversity of geometric forms of expression and to rediscover the quiet yet powerful force of form.
