Works by Alain-Jaques Lévrier-Mussat
His fascination with an iridescent pigment became the catalyst for a journey that has guided his work as a plastic artist for over two decades. His artistic education includes studies at the Arts Appliqués de la ville de Lyon and the Beaux-Arts de Grenoble. In 2001, he received the Fondation “Neues Glass” Prize in Düsseldorf (Germany).
A-J Levrier-Mussat’s work is based on the use of a blue pigment whose density generates an iridescent light.
«I made an equation out of it. The square, like a head, imposed itself as the only possible drawing of this vertiginous revelation. He is the permanent unknown. Between matter and light, between surface and depth, this blue ended up impregnating itself like a vertigo on the bottom of my eye. He gave me to see my invisible world.»
His artistic exploration, marked by the interplay of colour, light, and texture is captivating audiences.
